Bed and Breakfast in the Heart of Rural Northumberland
Title - Our Region
Coquet Bed and Breakfast is located in the rural county of Northumberland, with its rugged yet breath-taking coast and its wealth of historic buldings, Northumberland is a county waiting to be explored.

Alnwick CastleWe are perfectly placed in the heart of Northumberland to act as a base while you explore our intriguing region. The local towns of Alnwick and Morpeth are less than half an hours drive away and have plenty to offer the visitor, Alnwick has a Historic Castle recently used in the film, Harry Potter as well as the newly opened £14 million restoration of the Alnwick Gardens. Alnwick GardensMorpeth is the bigger of the two towns and is ideal for a night out with its large selection of restuarants and bars, but during the day there are plenty of big name shops as well as a weekly market for those in search of a bargain.

You can never get away from Northumberland's often turbulent past, wherever you go there are castles (in fact Northumberland has more castles and fortified houses than any other English county), and remains of when the county was a far less tranquil place.

Hadrians WallThe counties archeological treasures span the centuries from Stone Age rock art and hill forts located near Rothbury and Wooler (to name but two), and Roman remains - The most famous being the World Heritage Site that is Hadrian's Wall. All are within easy travelling distance from your comfortable base at Coquet Bed and Breakfast.

Not to far away from your accommodation is Northumberland's National Park, a stunning area with everything you'd expect from this breath-taking region, steep hills, gentle meadows, fast flowing rivers, meandering streams and a dramatic waterfall.

Grey SealFor the lover of nature and natural history, Northumberland offers mile upon mile of golden sandy beaches and rugged rocky shoreline to explore. There is the RSPB reserve of nearby Coquet Island (boat trips available from Amble), as well as the famous Farne Islands - A haven for seabirds and Grey Seals (boat trips available from Seahouses).
